    Good

Location is perfect and has limo bus stop right in front of the hotel

One morning, I waited for the elevator for 15 mins and didn't come!!!! And I had to use emergency exit to use the stairs. Glad found elevator that is for transfer goods to use. Almost missed my bus to airport...

English widely-spoken. Maybe due to the high suicidal rate in Japan, they kinda wanna make sure you don't die in their rooms, so it's kinda mandatory for them to clean your room after 4 days even if you continuously put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door. It's a good thing, I guess... The ramen store @ ground floor was about the only other good thing about this place.

Available exit from train station but still a lengthy distance away (got lost 3 out of 4 nights walking back to hotel without using underpass). Long passed it's glory days. Must be the it place for business travels back in the days, but now the room carpet smells, stuffs are coming apart, the toilet is yellow-ish (still clean enough though but hurt my knee twice when getting out of the tub). We almost used up the entire spray bottle of room deodorizer just to make it smell right. Staff friendliness is poor by japanese standards. Wouldn't have chosen it if known better.

    Very good

The price was excellent for the location, the location was close to the Shinjuku train station, good eating, and a tourist spot (Tokyo Metro Govt Building). The Family Mart was inside the hotel and was very convenient for snacks, water, drinks. The view from the Manhattan Grill was awesome!

The room was tiny, the bathroom was tiny, there was no airflow, and I couldn't open the window.

Nothing at all. This is the worst hotel I have ever encountered in my stays in Japan.

I don't often write reviews, but this hotel was the worst experience of my trip. It was so dismall, and the rooms were so small, without air o windows or even a proper bathroom. I checked out in the morning and immediatly checked into the astina hotel, which really is a good hotel. If you are going to Japan avoid this hotel !!!!!!

    Very good

The location details for the Hotel are misleading because it claims to be linked to the JR Shinjuku Station which it isn't. It is some distance away and not very easy to find

It's located not far from Shinjuku Station.

The room is in very very bad condition. We stayed at no-smoking room, but there was strong sigaret smell. The room was very dirty.

Big room and comfortable bed. Also, the Airport Limousine Bus connects it directly with both Narita and Haneda airports, so it's very convenient using this service

Rude staff. None of them speaks fluent english, so it's hard to communicate with them. The optional WI-FI in the room didn't work after I paid for it and no one in the hotel new how to solve this problem. They made me call the technical service myself, when I was a guest there. The staff don't want guests to bother them at all, so if you go and ask for help, they have an attitude. Very rude. Also, it's too far away from Shinjuku Station for tourist who want to make the most of their stay in Tokyo. You need to leave the hotel earlier than expected in your plans, since getting to the station takes between 15 and 20 minutes, depending of how crowded the streets are.

    Exceptional

Overall the Hotel was great, The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel has an excellent range of restaurants on the basement floor that are really great value and best of all open til late. The room itself was quite comfortable and very clean. The hotel was only about a 10-15 minute walk or a short very cheap taxi ride to the Shinjuku train station and located near the quite prominent Metro building. We will definately stay here again when I travel back to Japan.

The laundry room was located in the adjacent building which had a smokers section right outside the room, so you were greeted by smoke. Although we asked for a non-smoking room, patrons were allowed to smoke in their own rooms and so we were exposed to smoke when going to and from the lift. We didn't request a room change because we assumed that every floor was the same.

Staff - Very helpful (at Information Counter on 1st Floor & Room Service Receptionist) Services - Family Mart in premises is good, good range of restaurants in the hotel, laundromat in Annex Building saves on hotel laundry charges. Room - Small, but fairly comfy queen size bed. Room was generally clean and was left tidy by housekeeping staff. New bath/bed robes were left for 3 days, so if you use them that's OK. They didn't fit me, so I didn't. Comfort - As stated bed was OK. Location - If weather is bad, there's a B1 level entrance to the convenient subway link to Shinjuku Station - this is good!!! Be warned, this is a much longer walk than above ground and is not a flat walk (as above ground), but you won't get wet. On foot 15 minutes underground to Shinjuku station or 8 - 10 minutes above ground.

Staff - Surly (Foreign Check In Counter & Main Desk at Check Out). After checking the Check-out Time at the Foreign Guest Counter was 11:30am and then asking if we pushed it to 12:00pm would it be ok, and being told yes, it was somewhat surprising to be asked to pay y920 for the extra hour upon checking out at 11:55am. Services - Despite having many restaurants, all but one were Smoking, and as a non-smoker this was a big turn off. The one which was non-smoking was always busy with long queues and that says it all. Dining and smoking is not enjoyable for those of us who don't smoke. Room - Bathroom; shower curtain is too small and allows water to spray out at either end. After taking a bath, the water released from the bath flowed back onto the bathroom floor and flooded the room. The fan was so clogged up with dust that it didn't work and every time a hot bath/shower was taken the room steamed up for ages. Value for money - At over US$130 per night for this room, the value in any normal city would be poor. But Tokyo is still an expensive city so this manages to scrape into fair value. Certainly no higher than that. I stayed in the Hyatt Regency in Fukuoka for the week before I moved to Tokyo for US$120 per night with a cleaner, larger, better room/hotel.

    Appealing building shape from outside

Size of room, view from room, staff including that of the restauarabt and family mart downstairs and other visitors were rude compared to those I expienced in kyoto and I felt it was cos I was a foreigner, my girlfriend is a Japanese teacher so language wasn't a big issue. I disliked the smell of smoke as soon as you walk into the lobby.

    Fabulous

Location and cost. Also staff were really friendly and helpful.

Not enough English translations on TV for on demand movies, Google & You Tube from TV. That said, I am In Tokyo and it's up to me to learn Japanese!

    Good

we didn't like the small room, the English communication issue. But we don't think it is Shinjuku Washington Hotel..it is Japan, food & accomodation is just too expensive.

  • 6.6
    Good

It's relatively well located near Shinjuku station, but not too close, so it needs >10 min walk. It's relativelyy cheap for Tokyo.

Not easy to find from the street. The reception is at 4th floor. The elevators are usually full when reaching your floor, so we had to call it upwards to make sure we could take it down at breakfast time.

  • 9.2
    Superb

This was very reasonably priced, especially for the location. It's about a 7 minute walk to Shinjuku station, where you can catch all the trains to go around Tokyo. There are many restaurants and 2 convenient stores within the same building, and so if you're feeling like not venturing too far, you don't have to. Everything was very clean, and the staff was courteous.

The facilities themselves need to be updated. Though everything was very clean, it all looked a bit old.

    Good

very small room for double bed and small window as well; staff is polite but bearly knows english language; visa cash cards can be used only for drawing money at ATM's in post bank' desks or seven-eleven
